West End Writers is a New Friendly Writing Group seeking to Promote and
Encourage Writers of all levels through a
Variety of Activities including Manuscript Discussions and Workshops. 5th September Charity day at Longstock Water Gardens Time: 2 p.m to 5 p.m., entry: £5 adult £1 child (up to and including 14 years of age) We are a charity called Rainbow Centre at Fareham which helps children with Cerebral palsy, Adults with MS and Parkinson and those recovering from a stroke from all over the Wessex Region. Late summer in Longstock sees the garden come into its full glory, with lush colours and inspired planting combinations at every turn. The grassy paths leading through the trees and around the lake and its islands give Longstock the feel of a peaceful private garden, where visitors can be amongst the plants and trees, or sit for a while to enjoy the scents and colours. The Rainbow Centre for Conductive Education www.rainbowcentre.org Saturday 25th September - Charity Family Fun Evening at the Eastleigh Lakeside Steam Railway From 5.30-8.30pm in aid of the NHS trust ROCKY APPEAL for New Digital Keyhole operating theatres. There will facepainting and other exciting things for people to take part in. It costs just £5 per person to get in , which also includes a burger , hotdog or slice of pizza and a ride on the trains. Tickets can be purchased on the door. ‘Pants on Fire!’ fun run on Sunday 26 September 2010 - 5k fun run at the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth in aid of The Wessex Cancer Trust. Entry fees for the fun run range from £7.50 for adults to £20 for a family of four and everyone taking part will receive a running pack.
